What You'll Need:
- Fusion Mineral Paint (approx. 500ml for one door)
- Degreaser (e.g., Fusion’s TSP Alternative)
- Sandpaper (220 grit)
- Tack cloth or lint-free rag
- Painter’s tape
- Paintbrush (synthetic bristle) and/or foam roller
- Optional: Fusion Ultra Grip (for glossy/slick surfaces)
Step-by-Step Instructions:1.Remove or Tape Hardware
- Remove the door handle, knocker, mail slot, etc.
Or cover them with painter's tape to avoid getting paint on them.
2.Clean the Surface
- Use Fusion TSP Alternative or a degreaser to thoroughly clean the door.
- Rinse well with clean water and dry completely.
3.Light Sanding
- Lightly sand the surface with 220-grit sandpaper to help the paint adhere.
- Wipe away the dust with a tack cloth or lint-free rag.
4.Priming (if needed)
- If your door is very glossy or made of metal/plastic, apply Fusion Ultra Grip and let it cure for 12 hours before painting.
5.Painting
- Stir your Fusion Mineral Paint well.
- Use a synthetic brush for grooves and a foam roller for flat areas for a smooth finish.
- Apply thin, even coats — 2 coats are typically sufficient.
- Let each coat dry for 2–4 hours before applying the next.
6.Curing Time
- Although it will feel dry to the touch within a few hours, Fusion cures fully in 21 days.
- Be gentle during this curing period — avoid banging or washing the door aggressively.
Tips:
Choose a dry, mild day (ideally 10–25°C or 50–77°F).
You don't need a top coat with Fusion, but for extra protection, especially in harsh climates, you can use Fusion Tough Coat or Clear Wax after the paint cures.
